Irony is another source of humour. And you gotta love the irony in the article (here) entitled “YOG Lane begins operation; most motorists say they will give way.” Note that the third paragraph in the article reads: “Motorists who do not give way will be fined S$130.” *shrug*

“Test Run Shows Motorists Do Give Way To YOG Vehicles”
Tuesday, 3 August, 2010
To quote from the article (here): “Test runs conducted by the organisers since July 12 show that many vehicles give way to Youth Olympic Vehicles…the Land Transport Authority’s group director for Road Operations and Community Partnership, Dr Chin Kian Keong, said he’s confident that motorists would show their support for the Games by being gracious [...]
Put To Sleep
Monday, 2 August, 2010
“One of 6 deer which escaped Night Safari put to sleep” One of the six deer which escaped from the Night Safari last Wednesday (and which was subsequently retrieved) has been put to sleep. Apparently, the reason given for putting it to sleep was that it had “succumbed to heat stroke on Friday.” Riiiiight.
Oh Deer!
Friday, 30 July, 2010
Ok this is pure comedy gold right here folks. “Six deer escape from Night Safari” Article (here). When I read this my mind just went spinning round and round thinking of the comedic possibilities. Now if I were someone who likes to create spoofs and satires, which obviously I’m not (*wink*), I would come up [...]
An Intense Storm
Wednesday, 21 July, 2010
This is breaking news so I thought I’d better post my thoughts on it. Do a simple search and you’d find that the Ministry of Environment has recently released a statement saying that their investigations have found that the Orchard Road flooding was caused by “an intense storm…”. Now this is important stuff which we [...]
Passing Of A Composer
Sunday, 11 July, 2010
A sad piece of news which I read about in the papers recently was that Ken Low, the composer of our well-known musical “Chang & Eng”, has recently passed away of pneumonia. Now I’ve never watched “Chang & Eng” before, and I’ve not heard of Ken Low before until this recent news. But nonetheless, when [...]
“More S’poreans Open To Online Dating, Matchmaking”
Friday, 25 June, 2010
Another CNA article which I just spotted: “More S’poreans open to online dating, matchmaking” It’s kinda ironic how one day they’re saying more S’poreans are staying single, then the next day they’re saying more S’poreans are open to online dating and matchmaking. Something isn’t adding up here. Anyway, I guess the online way is quite [...]
“More Singaporeans Are Staying Single”
Thursday, 24 June, 2010
Spotted on the CNA website today: “More Singaporeans are staying single” To quote from the article: “Last year, of those aged 30 to 34, 42 per cent of men remained single, up from 33 percent ten years ago. Likewise, 30 percent of women remained single compared to 22 percent in 1999. Singlehood rates were the [...]
On Being Swindled
Tuesday, 15 June, 2010
I read with interest in today’s papers about how this photo studio called “Naughty by Nature” has suddenly closed down, thus leaving thousands of customers with unfulfilled packages in the lurch. This follows the recent saga involving “Wax in the City”, which pulled off a similar stunt. Now I get very vexed whenever I read [...]
That’s A Given, Right?
