Nice song. I learnt about this song when I was watching the play “Singapore” by The Necessary Stage. Great stuff. The verses are OK, but the chorus is killer. The Carpenters never disappoint.

The “Big Two”
Monday, 16 January, 2012
This is completely random, and it might not even make sense to anyone, but in my opinion there are some bands with what I like to call the “big two”. This means that the band has two extremely big hits, usually in the same album, and I can never decide for myself which one is [...]
The Thing About Concerts
Monday, 9 January, 2012
I’ve finally decided to buy tickets to the Roxette concert. Woohoo! Well, actually my going to the concert was never in doubt. It’s just that I needed to lock down a friend who would go with me, and I finally managed to do that today. Roxette here I come! As far as I’m concerned, there [...]
Best Band Discovery of 2011
Monday, 26 December, 2011
I know I’m a bit slow, but my best band discovery for this year has definitely got to be The Script. I’ve been listening to their eponymous album, and I absolutely adore “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven”. I think they just might be the greatest band to come out of Dublin since [...]
The Cranberries: Live In Concert
Thursday, 4 August, 2011
Ireland has had a history of producing great bands, but one of my favourite bands to ever come out of Ireland has still got to be The Cranberries. I started listening to them since the early 90′s, back in the cassette era. (Yes, I believe I still have that “No Need To Argue” cassette tape [...]
New Coldplay Song
Thursday, 30 June, 2011
I dunno about this one man. It’s their new single called “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”. Most of the comments on YouTube seem to be very positive. I get that Coldplay is trying to slowly but steadily move into a new musical direction, towards a new sound perhaps. I say “slowly” because you can still [...]
Maroon 5 – Writing For The Meat Market?
Tuesday, 15 February, 2011
I’m not the greatest expert on Maroon 5, but I have listened through their first two albums and I’ve also attended their gig at the Indoor Stadium (which I thoroughly enjoyed)…so you could say that I am more than an average fan. First off, I’ve been giving some of the songs on their latest album [...]
The Slow Death Of Singapore Music
Monday, 31 January, 2011
I’m not sure if anyone caught the sad irony in page 8 of today’s Life! section. On top was a larger-than-half-page account of last Saturday’s St. Jerome Laneway Festival held at Fort Canning Park, whereby 6,000 music fans braved the rain and the muddy grounds (*cringe*) to catch the many international bands perform. Unfortunately, there [...]
M2M
Tuesday, 18 January, 2011
What is it about Scandinavian bands and their ability to come up with the most incredibly catchy songs known to man? There must be something about the air in Scandinavia or something. There’s ABBA, Roxette, Ace of Base, Michael Learns to Rock, The Cardigans, Aqua, and of course, my favourite of them all… M2M. (Well, [...]
“The Day After The Revolution” By Pulp
Wednesday, 6 October, 2010
Song (here). One of my favourite songs by Pulp. This is from their “This Is Hardcore” album, which I thought was slightly better than the already fantastic “Different Class“. The Day After The Revolution The dust has settled, Replaced the bulbs with all the lights. I guess I’ll get no sleep tonight. A revolution happened, [...]
