So Cadel Evans ended up winning what was probably one of the best Tours de France in recent history.
I didn’t exactly watch all the stages, but I definitely watched more stages this year than in all other years combined.
It was intriguing because the yellow jersey changed hands twice in the last three days.
And the mountain stages were particularly riveting.
I would have hoped for an Andy Schleck victory, but you have to give credit to Cadel Evans for his toughness, and for hanging in there and refusing to give up.
Andy Schleck will have his day, but that day is not today.
His time trial shortcomings were painfully exposed on the penultimate stage.
It was a marvellous event and the TDF once again proves that it is an event like no other.
Now on to the FINA World Swimming Championships, which started last week…
…
One simply cannot describe the pure joy one feels when you see a particular athlete and you think he really looks like someone else, then you quickly go on Twitter and check if anyone else in the world thinks the same way as you, and you actually find people who do…and you’re like “YES”!!!
I’ll give you the two best examples from this year’s Tour de France:
Thomas Voeckler = Bono
Cadel Evans = Denise Richards (yes, that Denise Richards)
And the best thing is that there are people on Twitter who think the same!
Woohoo!
