There seems to be so much hate going around for Glenn Ong, judging by the comments on the Yahoo! news article regarding his upcoming marriage to Jean Danker (here).

Most of the comments were basically condemning the marriage and dooming it to failure, presumably because Glenn has been through two failed marriages, and also presumably because Glenn is not the most well-liked of figures on local radio.

Well, I personally think that it’s very bad form to condemn a couple’s upcoming marriage.

What has humanity come to nowadays?

I’m sure you wouldn’t want to hear such comments about your own marriage, so I don’t see why such vicious comments should be flying out of people’s mouths regarding Glenn and Jean’s.

Yes, he isn’t the most likeable of chaps on radio.

In fact, I cringe every time I hear him and Flying Dutchman on air (which explains why I avoid Class 95 like the plague in the mornings).

But that’s a personal opinion of a radio personality, and I don’t see why such dislike should spill over into distasteful attacks on his personal life.

And regarding the “third marriage” thingy, well…who knows for sure what happened in the first two marriages?

If we don’t know the whole story, why be so quick to conclude that it was Glenn who was completely at fault in his first two marriages?

And even if (that’s a big “if”) he was completely at fault in the first two marriages, who’s to say that the third one would definitely end up the same?

Everybody deserves a second chance.

Or third.

(Third time’s a charm, anyone?)

So anyway, congrats to Glenn and Jean on their upcoming marriage.

Glenn, I may not like you as a DJ, but I still wish you and Jean a happy and blessed marriage.
