I didn’t follow the Asian Games, though I heard that there was quite a bit of exciting stuff going on in the pool, both in the men’s and women’s events.
I heard that Tao Li won the gold in the women’s 50m Fly, but I’ve not watched the race until on YouTube today.
Hey what was all that taunting about, Tao Li?!?
Both before and after the race?
Was that really necessary?
Yes, I know you came in first, but you didn’t even dip below 26s and you were more than half a second away from the Asian Record and more than one second away from Therese Alshammar’s WR.
(Although I’ll readily admit that 26.10s is still bloody fast for a 50m Fly.)
But my point is that one should always be humble and gracious in victory.
Hey we’re not yet even in the sub-26s region here…but even if you’re as fast as Alshammar I don’t see why one should need to act so cocky in the pool.
Gotta learn some humilty, Tao Li.
Perhaps that’s your way of motivating yourself to perform, but it does come across as being very arrogant.
We all know that Phelps is always supremely confident in the pool, but even he does not come across as arrogant or cocky in victory.
