5 Burning Questions On The YOG

Now that the YOG has ended, I’ve just got 5 burning questions:

1) Was the $387 million truly money well spent?

2) Did anyone get fined $130 for blocking the YOG buses?

3) Just how much did school students (and teachers) have to sacrifice for the YOG?

4) Just how many YOG tickets did they actually manage to sell to the man on the street?

5) Was the JJ Lin cheer actually being used at the various sporting venues, and if so, was anyone coerced into doing it?

One Response

  1. I stumbled onto your blog when I was looking for reviews for fried rice paradise after catching it with my wife.

As for the YOG questions. I totally agree with you . But …………..

    1) According to Minister VBK and TSL, yes. But according to a daft singaporean like me. Not really. Hosting the F1 actually did more for us. Why is the budget balloon , is a question which will not be answered too. I suspect.

    2) Statistics aren’t shown anywhere at least, but I am glad that the lane is returned to us . And I only need to keep my ears peeled for sirens from police, fire engines and ambulances rather than a big bus with a give way sign.

    3) As for qn 3) Ministers will say the sacrifice is worth it for the nation. But I suppose we have the right to think otherwise , or do we?

    4) As for qn 4) I don’t think that stats will ever be released. forget it lah. The more you think about it , the more it burns and consumes you , Whoops better not anyhow use the word burn or not kena like abdul Malik. You know , I know , we all know can already .

    5) I cringe when I hear the song. Or when I am reminded or it…………..the less said the better ;)
