I’ve decided to start a little theatre reviews blog with a friend of mine.
It’s called “Buttons in the Bread” (here).
I figured since we catch quite a fair number of local productions between us every year, it would be nice to document all our thoughts and reviews nicely in one neat little blog.
Who knows, it might even be a useful little resource for people out there.
In my opinion, reviews serve a number of purposes.
One, they could serve as valuable feedback for practitioners to reflect and possibly improve on their craft.
(I’m not a practitioner, but after going through the whole Short+Sweet 2010 thingy, I’ve begun to fully appreciate the value of reviews.)
Two, they could also possibly help stimulate healthy and intelligent discourse on matters pertaining to local theatre.
Once again, the blog is called “Buttons in the Bread”.
Why “Buttons in the Bread”?
Well, because “Local Theatre Review Blog” just sounds a bit too ordinary to me, don’t you think?
