Watching Michael Schumacher struggling to keep up with his teammate Rosberg is like watching Lance Armstrong struggling to keep up with the sharp end of the pack in the Tour de France.
The similarities are there.
Both are 7-times champions (Schumacher in terms of F1 world titles, Armstrong in terms of TDF general classification wins).
Both were untouchable in their heyday.
Both took some time off, and now are trying to get back in the fray again.
At times it’s painful to watch, because I am a big fan of both of them, and it’s always hard to watch a once untouchable sportsman suddenly appear mortal.
Anyway, the Schleck-Contador rivalry looks set to dominate cycling for the next few years.
I am licking my lips in anticipation.
It’s not often in sports you get a legit man-on-man rivalry with both athletes in the prime of their lives.
