Turkish Grand Prix

Well, the flashpoint of the entire race had to be the moment when Vettel inexplicably barged into Webber, thus taking both cars momentarily out of the race when they were running in a very strong 1-2 at that particular point in the race.

Inexplicable.

But sillier things have happened in F1.

I think it was a culmination of Vettel’s frustration all weekend, especially having once again been overshadowed by his on-form teammate in qualifying.

Things are definitely not going well for Vettel at the moment, but it’s hard to see how the situation is likely to improve any time soon now that fireworks have officially been sparked off in the team.

We can safely assume that the gloves are off now.

It’s a real pity that Webber, who has been driving so well lately, was unable to cash in on what was looking like a probable third successive victory.

Nonetheless, I guess there was some form of poetic justice in the fact that Webber still managed to hang on for third place.

As for Michael Schumacher…a fine, albeit subdued, showing once again by the old master.

He actually took a position away from Button at the start, but his Merc was never going to be able to withstand the onslaught from the significantly quicker McLaren.

Nonetheless, a very impressive fourth placing indeed.

I look forward to seeing a podium finish for Schumi in the near future.
