Good Stuff

A few days ago I read with interest (here) about how we have built the world’s first “double helix curved” bridge.

How about that eh?

World’s first ok!!!

I dunno, there may have been “curved” bridges built before, “single helix” bridges built before, “helix curved” bridges built before…but never a “double helix curved” bridge built before!

Score another one for our country!

Anyway, this just in: According to CNA (here), the official names for the double helix curved bridge and the accompanying vehicular bridge have been given.

*drum roll*

After what must have no doubt been a lengthy consultation process, the official name for the helix bridge is…“The Helix”!

And the official name for the accompanying vehicular bridge which is part of Bayfront Avenue is…“Bayfront Bridge”!

Score another one for our ability to give creative names!

Now we know what kind of entries to submit whenever there is a nationwide naming competition.
