That Time Of Year Again

Yes it’s that time of year again.

The time when I look forward to the big weekend event that affects both my Saturday (qualifying) and my Sunday (race).

The time when I get to read race previews from ITV’s website every Thursday before the race.

The time when I start to see the latest pictures of the racetrack from F1 forums.

The time when I start to wonder how life was like when the F1 season was still ongoing.

The time when I have to get used to drivers donning new uniforms and driving for new teams (Button at McLaren? Alonso at Ferrari?). It takes awhile to get used to that.

The time when drivers from all the top teams will all say that they love their new car and are confident of good results this season.

This season is going to be one of the best seasons in years, and that’s saying a lot after vintage years such as ’08, ’07 and ’06.

Button-Lewis at McLaren, Alonso-Massa at Ferrari, Schumi at Mercedes, Vettel-Webber at Red Bull…it doesn’t get better.

And I’ve just got two words for you: Schumi’s back!!!

My prediction is that he will be involved in at least one major controversial incident this year.

But hey, that’s the Schumi that we love.

No prizes for guessing where my loyalties lie this year!

Anyway, it’s in this particular order – Schumi, then Massa.

I’m hoping Massa wins the battle of teammates at Ferrari.

At McLaren? I can’t really be bothered…though I predict that Button might get destroyed by Lewis.

And if Webber can’t prove this year that he’s better than Vettel, then I guess we can safely say he was never destined for greatness.
