Post-Trip Thoughts 5: Nottingham

I decided to stop by Nottingham for two nights en route to Liverpool from London.

Well, I didn’t explore much of Nottingham except for the city centre and the Nottingham Castle, but the reason why I chose Nottingham was because it felt like a nice quaint city with a rich and colourful history (such as the legend of “Robin Hood”).

On hindsight I should have made the walk to Nottingham Forest FC, which was apparently a short walk away from the main rail station…but because it was rather cold in Nottingham I decided against making the trip in the end.

Here’s a tip if ever you’re in Nottingham: Go and eat the Chinese buffet at May Sum.

Seriously.

It’s the greatest Chinese buffet I’ve ever seen in my life.

And pretty cheap too, considering the amount of food you get to eat.

How you get there is very simple – From Old Market Square (where the Wheel of Nottingham is), walk up Market Street until the next junction, where you will see the Royal Concert Hall in front of you. From there, turn left at Upper Parliament Street, walk for about 50m and you will see May Sum on the right-hand side.

You can’t miss it.

It’s great.

All in all, I think Nottingham is a nice peaceful little short stop if ever you’re making a trip up from London to Liverpool.
