Huge Fight Weekend

Ok, back to sports.

This will be a big weekend in fights, as Manny Pacquiao takes on Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas.

Personally, it’s hard to see Pacquiao losing the bout.

What we really want to see is the ultra-mega-fight between Pacquaio and Mayweather…if it will ever materialise.

That might be one of the biggest fights we’ve had since, what, Mayweather-De La Hoya?

(To be honest, the names “Pacquiao” and “Ronstadt” are names which I will never be able to remember how to spell.)

Then there is UFC 105 over in Manchester this coming weekend, immediately followed by UFC 106 the following weekend.

(The UFC was smart enough to avoid hosting UFC 105 in the US so as to avoid the Pacquiao-Cotto fight.)

For UFC 105, I’m actually looking forward to see who wins in the Swick-Hardy and Bisping-Kang fights, and not the main event itself.

And for UFC 106, I guess the main fight is something both Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin really need to win in order to salvage their careers.

I would imagine a loss for either of them would be devastating.

Y’know…it’s funny, I find it hard to get really excited about boxing fights nowadays, as compared to UFC fights.

It’s so much easier to get excited about the UFC nowadays.

Another sign that boxing is really on its way down.

I mean, the money is still in boxing…but for how much longer?
