Most Commonly Used Phrases In F1 Commentary

If you watch enough Wimbledon tennis, you’d soon realise that the phrase you’d hear a thousand times per match is “A glorious pass!”

Anyway, here are some of the more commonly heard phrases in F1, from my own experience:

“…(he’s) driving the wheels off that car…”

“…dives into the pitlane…”

“…takes a look on the outside…” (in a attempt to pass)

“…going flat out…”

“…this circuit is especially hard on the brakes…” (they say it for EVERY circuit!)

“…(he’s) on an absolute flyer of a lap…”

“…takes the chequered flag…”
