Ok, so I’ve been listening to this old song “Don’t Know Much” by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt lately (for the life of me, I can never memorise how to spell “Ronstadt”!).
I have to say it’s an amazing song. Really.
Listen to it in good-definition and it just moves you.
Two incredible voices singing an incredible song with great lyrics.
So anyway, my point is this…as I was listening to the strings interlude in the middle of the song, I thought it reminded me of something.
It was really familiar.
And I finally figured out what it reminded me of.
Yup, you guessed it – Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On”!
Check out 2:24 of the first clip, as compared to 1:56 of the second clip.
(The notes aren’t entirely similar, but the feel is definitely the same. It’s a repeated 4-note strings motif with an overlying guitar solo.)
