I’m sure most of you would have known this by now, but for those of you who weren’t aware…
Over the weekend, Facebook implemented the function which allows you to claim your own unique Facebook profile page URL.
Which means that if you want it to be called “username”, your profile page can be simply facebook.com/username, which makes it easy for you to tell your friends how to search for you on Facebook. (Provided no one else has “choped’ the desired username before you.)
I think the only criteria is that it needs to be at least 5 characters in length.
The good thing is that everyone only has one Facebook account, so you can only commit to only one chosen username. It’s not like registering “.com” domains whereby you can register as many as you want as long as you pay for them.
The bad thing is that almost everyone in the world has a Facebook account, so good luck to you if you want a username that is popular.
Quick grab your personal unique URL before it runs out!
By the way, my Facebook profile page is simply facebook.com/jeremyyew.
I was quite sure no one out there was going to snatch that away from me, so I just took my time to register it.
(P.S. Oh wait, I just realised that I’m not the only “Jeremy Yew” on Facebook…there are actually many others. Luckily I grabbed mine first!)
