“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” – Psalm 122:1
The last two weeks have not exactly been the best for me, but it’s always an immense joy to go back to the house of the Lord every Sunday to experience the warmth of our spiritual family.
I really enjoy talking to the little ones. I go round the room before their worship starts and just go mingle with them. It’s an unspeakable joy. They’re excitable and seated in their chairs, all ready for their worship to start. God bless the little children.
I greet a friend who has just returned from abroad. I talk to a parent to ask him how his kids are doing (and play with the cute little baby in his arms). I greet a fellow sister who I noticed didn’t turn up last week. I check up with two little girls and their grandmother whom I haven’t seen in a few weeks. I talk to a number of young people to ask them how their first week of school has been (the general response was surprisingly quite positive).
Sometimes, I even give “random presents” (complete with badly-handwritten card) to dear friends.
Sundays can sometimes be really busy for me, especially with so many personal duties, but it’s always a joy to see our spiritual family once again.
We may be going through tough times in our lives, but ultimately we know that we’re all there for one another.
After all, we are all one in the body of Christ.
