My latest shipment of CDs from Amazon just arrived today.
Spent the last hour importing all the songs from these CDs into my new iPod Classic.
Really cool.
I’m so excited I’ve got to talk about it. The CDs are:
- Carousel (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack): Of all the musicals he wrote, this was Richard Rodger’s favourite score. It’s gotta be something. I’ve waited a long time to get my hands on this soundtrack.
- Fiddler On The Roof (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack): One of the most powerful movie-musicals I’ve watched. The music is fantastic too. Not your typical Rodgers & Hammerstein fare, but still excellent in its own right.
- A Chorus Line (Original Broadway Cast Recording): I’ve heard a lot about this musical, so I figured it’s high time I started seriously listening to the score.
- Leonard Bernstein Conducts “West Side Story”: This is the legendary recording starring Jose Carreras and Kiri Te Kanawa. Bernstein’s brilliant score never sounded better! It also comes with a DVD documentary of the famous session which Bernstein himself presided over.
You probably can’t get any of these CDs in any of our local shops, that’s why I had to buy them from Amazon.
Here’s to many hours of serious listening!

Wow…!
Sorry no offence but I’d have thought you own all these already ;p
Nope! I have the “Fiddler On The Roof” DVD, but never had the soundtrack CD. The Bernstein one, I once rented the DVD from the Esplanade Library.
[...] “The Musical Theatre Writer’s Survival Guide” The book I’m currently reading is “The Musical Theatre Writer’s Survival Guide”, which came in my latest Amazon package. [...]
