Songcraft Session 3

So we had our 3rd Songcraft songwriting session last Friday. (Click on the link below for all the sound clips and more.)

A Full Recap of Songcraft Session 3

Every session never fails to throw up pleasant surprises. I’m very encouraged when I see that there are so many of us who are passionate about songwriting, and are so enthusiastic about sharing our songs with others.

One very positive thing which I’ve picked up from the latest session is that I’ve learnt that our Songcraft sessions have actually spurred people on to writing more songs, and that as such, it has also honed their songcraft along the way. That’s something very encouraging to know. And it was one of the main reasons why I bothered to start the group in the first place.

Sometimes I think I’m a little bit crazy, cos I bother to do crazy stuff like start the Songcraft songwriting group on nothing more than a whim. It certainly sounded like a CRAZY idea when I first pitched it to my friend, after watching the movie “Music & Lyrics” a few months back. I could sense the slight apathy and pessimism toward my fanciful idea back then.

But I went ahead and started it anyway. And the way things have turned out after three months has been nothing short of fantastic (by my own expectations).

All along, I think I’ve always been the type to get up and go do stuff which I strongly believe in. Sometimes it turns out great, sometimes it doesn’t. But it doesn’t really matter to me, cos what matters most is that I actually tried to do something which I’m passionate about.

Cos life is rather boring if you didn’t.
