Y’know, I ain’t much of a songwriter, but songwriting does interest me somewhat.
I write songs either for self-expression, or to send out a message to others, or just simply for the fun of it.
Anyway, here’s a rather rough cut of a little song I wrote earlier this evening, which is one of the songs I will be presenting at this Friday’s Songcraft session.
…
“Back Into The Arms”
This is a song about “giving comfort”.
It’s about recognising that someone is in pain. It’s about being there for someone who’s in need. It’s about being a shoulder to lean on. It’s about letting that someone fall back into the arms of the one that he/she loves.
It’s especially for those out there who may be feeling down & out at the moment.
As I said, I ain’t no songwriter, and my lyrics aren’t exactly Dylan-like, but it’s my best attempt at it.
Enjoy!
(Someone once told me that I always only write “happy” tunes regardless of whether I write happy or sad lyrics. I thought that was quite true! And I don’t seem to be able to do anything about it, haha!)

G Bm
I can see the signs
C D
That tell me you’ve been cryin’
G Bm

They’re written on your face
Em Am D7 G
Memories you can’t erase

You’re back into the arms that you love
Maybe cos you’re a Happy person deep down inside. Like the lyrics :)
True, true!
Sounds quite “Beatles”, at least to me :)
Hey, add the chords to the lyrics too!
Thanks for the “Beatles” compliment, Ivan!
Ok, will add the chords as well!
