Coming This Saturday!
Friday, 30 March, 2007

Our band plays at Ben & Jerry’s once again this Saturday, as part of a three-band marathon night. (We’re the 2nd band performing that night, I think.)
It’s my first ever paying gig! (Don’t ask how much I’m getting. You wouldn’t want to know. Really.)
Our set should start at around 10pm.

Ouch!

This Is Simply Unbelievable…
Wednesday, 28 March, 2007

Every night I come home and I check the results of the ongoing FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne, and I let out the inevitable ”No way!!!”
Tonight the words were raised about thirty decibels higher.
As you might know last night I kinda alarmed the whole house when I read about Michael Phelps’s time of 1:43.86 [...]

Michael Phelps Sets World Record in 200 Freestyle

How in the world?!?
Someboday please tell me Michael Phelps didn’t just do a 1:43.86 in the 200m Free, the first sub-1:44 in history?
I’m not skeptical…I’m just astounded. Yup, “astounded” is a good word to use here.
He not only eclipsed Ian Thorpe’s once-thought-to-be-unbeatable world [...]

It’s called the Songcraft Songwriting Circle, and the whole idea is [...]

Brendan Hansen Defends 100m Breaststroke World Title
Monday, 26 March, 2007

The latest showdown in what is one of the most intriguing rivalries in world swimming has seen Brendan Hansen emerge as 100m breaststroke victor over staunch rival Kosuke Kitajima in the World Championships in Melbourne.
The time is not especially quick (Hansen clocked 59.80), but it’s a world championship victory nonetheless. He split his first 50m at 27.67.
Kitajima earned the silver [...]

Final Countdown: Day 6 of 19
Monday, 26 March, 2007

Early Monday morning and heavy downpour…never a good combination.
Just lying in your bed at 630am, hearing the rain thundering down and seeing the grey morning skies just makes you want to feel sick.
But it’s a good thing I slept early last night, or else I shudder to imagine how I would feel today.
Here’s to the start of [...]

S$400m to be spent to transform old buildings into National Art Gallery
Make the National Art Gallery different
Excerpts from 1st article:
“Up to S$400 million will be spent to transform two of Singapore’s oldest buildings – the former Supreme Court and City Hall – into the National Art Gallery.
And when the Gallery is ready in five years, [...]

My Thoughts On The Phantom Of The Opera
Thursday, 22 March, 2007

A number of friends have been asking me if I’m going to watch the latest running of “The Phantom Of The Opera”, which plays at the Esplanade Theatre from 23rd Mar to 13th May.
My reply is usually a quick “no”.
Why?
Well firstly, the cost. I don’t think the price range of S$85-S$160 is justifiable, in my [...]
